About Us

Beta Theta Pi was the first fraternity at Johns Hopkins. It has served an integral role in the Johns Hopkins community for over 130 years. Refusing to rest on our laurels, our chapter continues to pursue excellence, winning two Sisson Awards in the last decade alone. Nationally, Beta is annually ranked in the top ten fraternities for number of chapters, members, and philanthropy.

Vision Statement

We strive to set an exemplary standard by which to measure other collegiate fraternities, both at Johns Hopkins and across the nation. Through our everyday interactions with our brothers and the community at large, we strive to exemplify the values we have pledged to promote and follow:

  • Betas will be universally known as friends, gentlemen and scholars.
  • Betas will be acclaimed and respected by the academic community.
  • Betas will be endorsed by parents who will advocate membership for young men.
  • Betas will be in high demand by leaders of business, government and the professions.
  • Betas will engender bonds of friendship and brotherhood which create a lifelong commitment to serve and support the Fraternity.
